Verda Voice Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Overview
Verda Voice ("the App") gives you an AI assistant that answers the calls you miss or decline, finds out who is calling and why, warns you about scams, and lets you talk with your assistant about your calls. This policy explains what the App and the Verda Voice service collect, how it is used, who helps us run it, how long it is kept, and the choices you have.
Verda Voice is run by Verda Inc. in the United States, and your data is stored in the United States.
What We Collect
Your account
- Sign-in details. Your email address and, if you share it, your name, from signing in with Apple, Google or an email code.
- Your phone number and carrier, so calls forwarded from your phone reach your assistant, and your time zone, so times are said correctly.
- Your choices: which assistant voice answers for you, and your setup progress.
Calls your assistant answers
When a call is forwarded to your Verda number, your assistant answers it. Callers are told at the start that the call is recorded and transcribed. For each call we keep:
- the caller's phone number, and the name and organisation they gave;
- an audio recording of the call;
- a written transcript and a short summary, with what the caller asked for, any appointment time they mentioned, and signs of a scam;
- whether you have opened it, marked it done, called back, or blocked or trusted the caller.
To protect you, the caller's side of the recording may also be checked for signs that their voice was generated by AI.
Your contacts (only if you allow it)
- So your assistant can recognise people you know and greet them by name, the App sends the phone numbers in your contacts to our server. Each number is turned into a scrambled code on arrival, and the number itself is not kept. For the greeting we keep only a first name, never a full contact card.
- You can turn this off in Settings › Contacts, which deletes what we keep from your contacts.
People lists you make
- Numbers you add to Trusted, Blocked or Expected callers, with the labels you give them.
Ask Verda (talking with your assistant)
- While the Ask Verda screen is open, the App sends what you say to our server so your assistant can understand and answer you, and plays back its answer. The microphone is used only while that screen is open.
- We do not keep the audio of these talks. We keep a written transcript of each talk, how long it lasted and which assistant you talked to.
- Reminders you ask for ("remind me to call the dentist tomorrow"), until they have been sent.
Other
- Notification tokens from Apple or Google, so we can send you call summaries and reminders.
- Invites. Verda Voice is invite-only. If you invite someone, we keep their email address or the invite code you share. If you join the waitlist, we keep your phone number.
- Messages you send us from Contact us, with the details you choose to include.
What We Do NOT Do
- No selling, no advertising. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- No tracking in the App. The App contains no advertising or analytics trackers.
- No listening in the background. The microphone is used only while Ask Verda is open. Calls are recorded only when they are forwarded to your assistant, never your own calls.
- No full contact book. Contact numbers are kept only as scrambled codes, and names only as a first name for greetings.
- No training on your calls. We do not use your calls or your talks with your assistant to train AI models.
How Data Is Used
- To answer and screen your calls, take messages, and tell you who called and why.
- To warn you about calls that look like scams or that ask for codes, money or personal details.
- To show your calls, recordings, transcripts and summaries in the App, and to let you share a clip of a call if you choose to.
- To answer your questions in Ask Verda and send the reminders you ask for.
- To keep the service working and secure, and to fix problems.
Who Helps Us Run It
We use a small number of service providers to run Verda Voice. They process data only to provide their service to us, and not for their own purposes:
- Cloud hosting in the United States, where calls, recordings and your account are stored.
- Telephone carriers, to receive the calls forwarded to your Verda number.
- Speech-to-text, to turn what callers and you say into text.
- AI language models, to write your assistant's replies, summaries and answers.
- Voice generation, to speak your assistant's replies.
- AI-voice detection, to check whether a caller's voice is AI-generated.
- Sign-in (including Apple and Google sign-in), to verify who you are.
- Apple and Google notification services, to deliver notifications.
- Encrypted backup storage, for nightly encrypted copies of our database.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm.
Permissions
The App asks for these, and each one is optional:
- Microphone: only for Ask Verda, while that screen is open.
- Contacts: to recognise people you know (see above). The App works without it.
- Notifications: for call summaries and reminders.
- Photos (save only): to save a share clip of a call when you ask.
- Call screening (Android only): lets the App turn away calls from numbers that are not in your contacts or Trusted list, so your carrier forwards them to your assistant. It reads the incoming number only, on your phone.
How Long We Keep It
- Calls, with their recordings, transcripts and summaries, and Ask Verda transcripts and sent reminders, are deleted automatically after 90 days.
- You can delete a call yourself at any time from the call's page.
- Your account and lists are kept until you delete your account.
- Encrypted backups are kept for 7 days, so something deleted is fully gone from them within a week.
Your Choices and Rights
- Delete your account in Settings › Delete account. This deletes your calls, recordings, transcripts, contacts data, lists, Ask Verda transcripts and reminders.
- Turn off contacts, the microphone or notifications at any time in your phone's settings.
- Stop forwarding calls to Verda by turning off call forwarding with your carrier, and the service stops receiving your calls.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, at bd@verda.ai. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have further rights under local law. We will not treat you differently for using them.
Children
Verda Voice is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the App.
