What this tool can and cannot tell you
A result of verified means a Verda watermark was recovered from the file itself, and it resolves to the provider that created it. A result of no mark found means exactly that, and nothing more — it is not a judgment about whether the content is real or AI-generated. Content can be unmarked, carry another provider's mark that we cannot read, or have been transformed enough to destroy a mark that was once there.
What happens to what you submit
A file you upload goes straight from your browser to storage, is scanned, and is deleted automatically after 30 days. It is never published, never attached to an account, and never shown to anyone else. Where content matches a private Verda post, the match is reported but the creator is not identified.
For covered providers
California SB 942 requires a covered provider to offer a free public detection tool. Verda operates this one, and also provides it white-labelled — your detector, on your domain. See the SB 942 requirements for what the statute asks for, or the EU AI Act Article 50 page for the European equivalent.
